Heat Saver Dryer Vent

By Corey Tournet September 03, 2018

A heat saver dryer vent sounds great in theory. It sounds much better to use the hot exhaust air from the dryer to heat your home, rather than wasting it by venting outside. However, it is not recommended for the following reasons:

- Venting your dryer inside will add extra moisture, which can cause mildew, mold and water damage.

- Venting your dryer inside may also introduce lint into your home.

- To our knowledge, none of these products have adequate lint filtration systems. Depending on the humidity indoors, introducing extra humidity may or may not cause issues…for example during the winters in cold climates, where it is often very dry indoors. But lint should always be avoided.

If you are looking to save money on your drying costs, a spin dryer is a much better investment. A spin dryer can cut 30 minutes or more off your drying time, and also extend the life of your clothes while saving energy costs.
