The use of an indoor dryer vent is not recommended for several reasons:
1. An indoor dryer vent releases large quantities of moisture into the air, which can cause water damage, mold, mildew and other problems.
2. An indoor dryer vent releases large quantities of lint into the air. This can create a fire hazard, and the lint in the air can also affect the quality of the air you breathe.
3. NEVER vent a gas dryer indoors. This can cause carbon monoxide poisoning.
There are many types of indoor dryer vent kits found in hardware stores, but they do not effectively trap the lint and moisture are are in most cases a code violation. If they were truly effective, they would have a completely closed system that captured all the lint and water, but they don't.
In our opinion, a spin dryer is an excellent indoor dryer vent alternative. We offer a spin dryer which has a 3100 revolutions per minute spin cycle, is lightweight, portable and requires no installation. After taking the clothes out of the washer, put them in the spin dryer for a couple minutes and they will be almost completely dry, just a little damp. Another option is to use a condenser dryer. Condenser dryers cost more money than conventional dryers, but they don't vent moist air.
